Morocco optimistic for this year’s cereal harvest

MARRAKESH, Morocco (Reuters) – Morocco sees a good cereal harvest this year thanks to rainfall levels, its agriculture minister said on Saturday.
Aziz Akhannouch told Reuters on the sidelines of an international conference in Marrakesh that it was too early to give an estimate of the size of the harvest. “I can’t give figures yet,” the minister said.
The planned cereal harvest in the 2015 national budget is 7 million tonnes.
Morocco will keep customs duties on soft wheat unchanged at 17.5 pct until the end of April 2015, the minister said.
