
My Father’s Scent Official Poster Ahead of Anticipated Theatrical Release

Ahead of its wide release across cinemas in Egypt on the 7th of January 2026 and across the Arab World on the 15th, Film Clinic and ArtKhana released the official poster for “My Father’s Scent”, directed by Mohamed Siam. This follows a successful festival run where it received several awards, including the Audience Award for Best International Film at the Red Sea International Film Festival. Ahmed Malek garnered both the Artistic Achievement Award at Fajr International Film Festival and the Best Actor Award at the El Gouna Film Festival. The film received two awards at the Brussels Mediterranean Film Festival – Cinemamed; the Grand Prize and Cineuropa Award.
“My Father’s Scent” is a family drama that takes place during a tense night, as a father and son are forced to confront their memories, disagreements, and perception of one another, in an attempt to resolve problems and mend what time has broken.
Starring Ahmed Malek, Kamel El-Basha, Mayan El-Sayed, Abed Anani, Donia Maher and Hala Marzouk. The film is produced by Mohamed Hefzy through “Film Clinic” and director Mohamed Siam’s “Art Khana”, with the Co- producers Ingrid Lil Hogtun, Hady Atallah, and Guillaume de Seille.
Moreover, the film received support from: The Red Film Fund, Norwegian Film Fund South; Sørfond, L’Organisation internationale de la Francophonie, Visions Sud Est, Doha Film Institute, Venice Film Festival’s Final Cut program, El Gouna Film Festival’s CineGouna platform, Malmö, as a co-production platform, Swedish Film Institute, “Eastern Promises” program at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, and Cairo Forum at Cairo International Film Festival. The film is distributed in the Arab World by Film Clinic Indie Distribution.
“My Father’s Scent” is the debut feature of director Mohamed Siam, who collaborated in the script-writing with Ahmed Amer. The crew includes: director of photography, Omar Abu Douma. Music is by Layal Watfa, editing by Ahmed Hafez, production design by Asem Ali, and costume design by Nayira El-Dahshoury.
