Teen Who Beheaded Mom After Watching ISIS Videos Gets Sentenced

After falling in love with an Islamic extremist, 15-year-old Lisa Borch took a kitchen knife and beheaded her mother. It’s been said that she had become obsessed with everything ISIS stands for, even the grisly beheading videos she watched online.
Minutes before she attacked her mother, Borch had been watching the beheadings of British hostages David Haines and Alan Henning on YouTube, carried out by the terrorist Jihadi John.
Borch did not act alone. She committed the heinous murder with her radical boyfriend Bakhtiar Mohammed Abdulla. They stabbed her mom Tina Römer Holtegaard at least 20 times at their home in Kvissel, rural Denmark.
Borch had met Iraqi 29-year-old Abdulla at a refugee center near her home. They fell in love, prosecutors said.
After the murder Lisa called police yelling: “I heard my mother scream and I looked out the window and saw a white man running away. Please come here, there is blood everywhere.”
When the police got to the house, they immediately became suspicious because Borch was calmly playing with her phone. It was after investigating her computer that they learned about her obsession with ISIS beheading videos. At her trial prosecutors said: “She watched them the whole evening long.”
Lisa and Abdulla had plans to flee to Syria after murdering her mother. She and her mother were always arguing because of her relationship with Abdulla, who Lisa’s mother did not approve of.
In court, Lisa squarely places the blame of her mother’s murder on Abdulla. He claims the opposite, saying he only came to the house briefly, “to help Lisa.” By the time police got to the house, Abdulla was not there. His fingerprints, however, were found in the mother’s bedroom.
Both Borch and Abdulla were found guilty of murder. Borch will serve nine years in a young offenders institution followed by eight years in jail.
