
Learn More About “One More Show” UAE Premiere

The Egyptian-Palestinian film “One More Show” is to be screened as part of the 12th Reel Palestine Film Festival, scheduled to take place from January 23rd to February 1st at Cinema Akil in Dubai. This marks the film’s UAE premiere after taking part in the Cairo International Film Festival, Rome International Documentary Festival, and Carthage Film Festival.
The film marks the first feature-length documentary experience for Mai Saad and Ahmed El-Danaf. Saad is an Egyptian filmmaker who began her career as an assistant director for a group of feature and short films. Currently, she is preparing for a new documentary film. She is also the creative producer of a feature-length film. This film marks her first experience in documentary directing. As for El-Danaf, he is a cinematographer and filmmaker from Gaza. His short film “A School Day” won the Youssef Chahine’s Award at the Cairo International Film Festival in 2024, and took part in multiple international festivals.
Amidst the destruciton of the Israeli genocide in Gaza, some circus performers refuse to surrender to despair. “One More Show” focuses on the “Free Gaza Circus” which includes Youssef, Batout, Ismail, Mohammad, and Jast, who, after being displaced from northern Gaza to its south, transform their art into an act of resistance, resilience and hope. While death looms in the background, they present shows for children in shelters, as well as on streets, offering them moments of joy through the darkest times.
The film is produced by Baho Bakhsh and Safie El-Din Mahmoud and co-produced by Mohamed Hefzy (Film Clinic). It is shot by Ahmed El-Danaf, Youssef Mashharawi, and Mahmoud Mashharawi, and edited by Sara Abdullah. Sound design and mixing are by Mustafa Shaaban and color correction is by Ahmed Abu Al-Fadl. The film is globally distributed by Film Clinic Indie Distribution.
