The International Islamic Relief Organization, Saudi Arabia (IIROSA) kicked off a winter campaign to provide immediate assistance for Syrian refugees in Egypt. IIROSA in coordination with Syria Al-Gad relief foundation in Egypt launched a campaign to provide blankets to impoverished Syrian families taking refuge there. The campaign was launched in the presence of Ehssan Saleh Taieb, Secretary General of IIROSA along with several other staff members of the secretariat general. The project aimed at distributing blankets to 10,000 Syrian refugee families registered with the foundation, in an attempt to alleviate their suffering and plight during the harsh winter period.
Ehssan Taieb said “IIROSA convoy set up this campaign to help providing humanitarian emergency assistance to Syrian refugees who are deprived of their basic needs in the current cold weather. The organization is aware of the worsening crisis in Syria and is steadily increasing its support to the refugees. We are honored to collaborate with Syria Al-Gad foundation in providing assistance to the increasing number of Syrian refugees in Egypt.”
Moreover, the Secretary-General during his trip to Egypt also visited the Syria Al- Gad school, where he expressed his appreciation to the teachers and praised their ability to teach students in creative ways.
Dr. Mulhem Al-Khan, the Director General of Syria Al- Gad foundation, conveyed his gratitude to IIROSA for its continuous support and efforts to implement emergency relief projects to relieve Syrian refugees in Egypt. “We looked forward for a stronger coordination with IIROSA and to organize similar campaigns in future as collective movement and more united efforts can eliminate the sufferings of displaced people,” he said.
