Renowned actor Hussein Fahmy, President of Cairo International Film Festival, held a working session with Mr. Fan Yun, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of China Media Group (CMG) and Editor-in-Chief of China Global Television Network (CGTN).
This meeting aimed to establish a framework for a media partnership ensuring extensive international coverage of Cairo International Film Festival events across Chinese network platforms and screens. Discussions included providing necessary facilities for media delegations and correspondents to cover major events of Cairo International Film Festival during its upcoming edition, scheduled from November 11 to 20, 2026, under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture.
Emphasizing the importance of this step, Hussein Fahmy stated, “Media represents the other wing of success for any international cultural event. We are keen on expanding the reach of Cairo International Film Festival beyond geographical borders. Collaborating with a giant media institution like China Media Group provides us with an exceptional platform to convey the festival’s message and atmosphere to millions of viewers across the Asian continent.”
On his part, Mr. Fan Yun commented on the meeting, saying, “Cairo International Film Festival holds a historical status as one of the most important cultural tributaries in the Middle East and Africa. Our network is deeply interested in broadcasting the details of this prestigious event. We look forward to building a strong media partnership that allows our audience to closely explore the Arab artistic scene and opens a new door for cultural exchange between our peoples.”
