\nOn March 24, 2014, Master Lu, was invited to attend the UN-endorsed global summit on world peace at the United Nations Headquarters in New York as a keynote speaker. The summit\u2019s objective is to formulate a road map for a culture of peace as conflict prevention and mediation.
\nIn appreciation for Master Lu\u2019s dedication, outstanding leadership and service to the promotion of education to nurture a culture of peace, the summit awards Master Lu with the title \u201cAmbassador of Peace Education\u201d. The award is presented by Emil Constantinescu, the former president of Romania, and Joana, the executive director of International Strategic Alliance Committee.
\nAt the meeting, Master Lu, together withrepresentatives from UNESCO, the UN-supported Global Peace Initiative of Women, , Yale University , 23 international agencies , and political leaders from across the world, , religious leaders from different faiths , members of parliament from Europe and other coutries, and academics, explore ways to promote a culture of peace so that conflicts can be prevented.

\nOn March 26, 2014 in Washington, DC , Master Lu attended a global summit on world peace as a keynote speaker in the U.S. Congress.He was awarded the title of ” World Peace Ambassador ” at the summit. . Participants of thesummit includes Congressman Jerrold Nadler, Congressman Dave Joyce,, former CEO of Time Warner , members of the European Parliament , famous American clinical psychologists, political and religious leaders from across the world. This historic moment was witnessed by members of Guan Yin Citta from the United States.
\nParticipants of the summit discussed how and why the culture of peace is required as a foundation to resolve conflicts in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific. Master Lu pointed out that, the dream of a peaceful world could only be realised if we treat each other with compassion , and show kindness to our communities. We could then have wisdom to resolve conflicts. . Master Lu\u2019s ideas and concepts were highly praised byall the distinguished guests in the audience. . They thanked Master Lu for coming all the way from Australia to the U.S. to attend the summit, and his contribution to helping promote the initiative for world peace.

\n31 March 2014 marked a very special day. Master Jun Hong Lu, the Ambassador for World Peace and a world-renowned Buddhist teacher, was awarded Honorary Visiting Professorship by the University of Siena at Meli\u00e1 Roma Aurelia Antica Hotel in Rome, Italy.
\nThe visiting professorship is under the Master Program in Global Governance and Cultural Diplomacy of the University of Siena, in collaboration with the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy (ICD). Professor Luca Verzichelli, on behalf of Rector of the University of Siena, presented the award to Master Lu. Erhard Busek, the former Vice Chancellor of Austria, Dr.EratoKozakou-Marcoullis, the former Foreign Minister of Cyprus, and Mark Donfried, Director of ICD all attended the conferring ceremony and praised the ground-breaking work made by Master Lu. Hundreds of Buddhists from Italy, other parts of Europe, and Asia witnessed the moment, with excitement, joy, and gratitude.

\nThe University of Siena is located in Siena, a historic city in central Italy. It was founded in 1240 and is one of the oldest and first publicly funded universities in Italy. It is also one of the prestigious univeristies in Europe. One of the most notable professors of the School of Medicine was Pietro Ispano. Ispano was an illustrious philosopher, physician, and in 1276 became Pope John XXI. The University of Siena is best known for its Schools of Law and Medicine. For more than 700 years, many outstanding physicians, lawyers, and litterateurs have studied at the university, and made great contributions to the country.
\nAt the conferring ceremony, Master Lu wore a red academic gown and a black hood, accepting congratulations from all the distinguished guests. Master Lu expressed deep appreciation towards the University of Siena for the conferral of the professorship. He also expressed his willingness to promote inter-cultural understanding and the unity of faiths, and do all he can to realize the dream of a more peaceful world!

\nJun Hong Lu is the President and Director of 2OR Australia Oriental Radio (2OR). He also serves as the President of the Australian Chinese Buddhist Research Centre (ACBRC) and the Vice President of the Australian Council of Chinese Organisations (128 organisations in total). Jun Hong Lu is the founder of the Buddhist practice\u2014Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door. He has been using his radio programs at 2OR to promote Buddhism and traditional Chinese culture, and spread the message of world peace; hence he is commonly referred to as Master Lu.

\n\u3010Honours and Awards\u3011In July 2012, the UK-based The Unity of Faiths Foundation honoured Jun Hong Lu with the World Peace Award (Buddhism) and the title of the Ambassador for World Peace in recognition of hisefforts to promote traditional Chinese culture, Buddhism, and world peace. The ceremony took place in Southhall Park, London, and the award was presented by Victoria Borwick, Deputy Mayor of London. The Unity of Faiths Festival was one of the events in celebration of the Queen\u2019s Diamond Jubilee.
\nIn September 2012, Jun Hong Lu was invited to give a public talk on Buddhism at Harvard University. In October 2012, Jun Hong Lu received the British Community Honours Award at the House of Lords, United Kingdom. This award is recognised and honoured by Her Majesty the Queen for members of the British Community for their contribution to British Society.

\nIn December 2013, Jun Hong Lu, along with dozens of heads of state, leading politicians, and religious leaders from 36 countries, attended the 2013 Annual Conference on Cultural Diplomacy in Berlin, Germany. He is revered by many as an influential spiritual leader in Buddhism. The Buddhist practice he founded\u2014Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door\u2014is aimed to help people attain a peaceful state of mind by encouraging people to recite Buddhist Scriptures, liberate animals from harm, and make great vows to help others. Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door is committed to the ideal of Guan Yin Bodhisattva, which is to be kind and compassionate to all. \nIn 2011Duan Jielong ,Consul General of the Pepole\u2019s Repulbic of China,, paid a visit to 2OR and met with Jun Hong Lu. In 2006, Jun Hong Lu accompanied the 7th Living Buddha Tulku Drupkang of Tibet during his Australian tour. The tour was to promote Tibetan Buddhism and it consisted of a series of talks on Buddhism. Jun Hong Lu received initiation, blessing and guidance from Tulku Drupkang.
\n\u3010Public Talks on Buddhism Across the Globe\u3011Jun Hong Lu\u2019s website features his talks and lectures on Buddhism, transcripts from his phone-in radio programs, and personal stories from followers of his Buddhist practice. As of November 2013, Jun Hong Lu\u2019s website has attracted 30 millionvisits.
\nSince 2010, in response to the invitations from followers around the world, Jun Hong Lu has given close to 100 public talks on Buddhism and world peace in more than 30 countries and regions, including major cities in Australia, New York, Los Angeles and Boston in the US; Toronto in Canada. He also gave talks in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, the UK, France, Germany, Denmark, Thailand, New Zealand, and Taiwan. In 2012, his Dharma Convention in Hong Kong attracted over 10,000 people to attend. In March 2013, nearly 20,000 people attended the Dharma Convention in Malaysia. In June 2013, 15,000 attended the event in Hong Kong.

\n\u3010Charitable Activities\u3011Jun Hong Lu has been involved in non-profit organisations such as the Sydney Chinese Parents Association, Oxfam, and the Tzu-Chi Foundation. He also volunteered at a nursing homefor five years.. He has been supporting charities such as the Red Cross, the National Stroke Foundation in Australia, Cancer Council Australia, Vision Australia, and the Aged Care Association of New South Wales in Australia. He has made donations to these institutions to the tune of nearly A$ 100,000.

\nIn 1998, Jun Hong Lu donated A$20,000 to support the Yantze River flood relief efforts in China. During the Sichuan earthquake in China, he organized a charity event and donated A$12,000. In 2011, during the Brisbane flood in Australia, over A$10,000 was donated. When the latest earthquake struck Sichuan,China, in 2013, ACBRC provided relief supplies to the tune of A$50,000 to the affected areas. In addition, ACBRC organized a charity program aimed at helping poor students in Tibet. ACBRC raised over A$12,000 for that charity program. In November 2013, ACBRC donated A$20,000 to the Taiwan-based Tzu-Chi Foundation to support its disaster relief programs.
