\nThe gunfire was cold, calculated, fired from tanks that see Palestinians not as human beings, but as moving targets. They were unarmed. They shouted only one word: “Hungry.” Their eyes were fixed on hope, their feet dragged the weight of despair, and their hearts trembled with fear. Still, they were killed.
\nThis is how “aid” is delivered in the lexicon of the United States and Israel: flour in exchange for humiliation and if you dare raise your eyes toward the truck, you\u2019re shot dead.
\nHave you ever known what it feels like to lose a father who went out just to bring you food?
\nHave you tasted the grief of waiting for your son, who never returns because he wanted you to eat?
\nWe are not a scene in a news report. We are not numbers on a rising death toll. We are people who dream, bleed, and suffer just like you. But we alone are punished for being hungry. Our children alone are sentenced to death for simply wanting to live.
\nYes, we call for a just and decisive international intervention. We call for a human outcry that will stop this open slaughter.
\nWe call to be seen as mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters, not as dots on a map of war.
\nWe ask for nothing more than life.
