Yemenis are \u201ceager\u201d to engage the US and Israel on the battlefield, and prepared for a direct confrontation with the enemy, Zaid al-Gharsi, director of the Houthi-led National Salvation Government\u2019s Media and Cultural Affairs Department, said in a statement Friday.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThe Yemeni people are eager to engage in conflict with the nation\u2019s enemies and have been shouting the \u2018death to Israel\u2019 slogan for the past 20 years, besides confronting the [military] equipment that would be deployed by the US and the regime against it,\u201d al-Gharsi said.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Yemenis have \u201centered direct confrontation against its adversaries today, and we tell them this: that they are welcome to [their] great hell,\u201d the official warned.<\/div>\n

\u201cWe are in a state of readiness, and have prepared ourselves for all possible scenarios,\u201d al-Gharsi stressed. \u201cIf the enemy thinks that it would stop Yemen [from supporting Palestine against Israel, ed.] we say this to them that they are suffering from an illusion.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Yemenis will turn their enemies \u201cinto ashes\u201d even if forced to fight them with their bare hands, the spokesman said.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Furthermore, attempts to pressure the Houthis into submission by sponsoring mercenaries against them and targeting Yemen\u2019s civilian infrastructure will fail, just as they have failed over the past nine years, al-Gharsi assured.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
