\u201cIn continuation of the conversation held in Kazan on October 23 [at the BRICS summit], relevant issues of bilateral agenda with an emphasis on enhancing the effectiveness of the trade and economic cooperation have been discussed in detail,\u201d the statement read.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Turkish president\u2019s office has said that Erdogan told Putin about his country\u2019s intentions to expand trade with Russia.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cPresident Erdogan stated that they aim to further the cooperation between Turkiye and Russia in many areas, the enhancement of the trade volume in particular,\u201d the office said on X.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

During the conversation, Erdogan emphasized Turkiye’s efforts to end regional tensions, and vowed that Ankara would continue to \u201ccontribute to peace processes,\u201d the office added.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In October, Erdogan attended the BRICS summit in the Russian city of Kazan and held several meetings, including with Putin. During the meeting, the Russian and Turkish leaders discussed various issues, including bilateral relations, the conflict in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
