Massive $80G gold nugget discovered<\/h1>\n

in Australia by retired man who’s been searching area for years<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n
A massive gold nugget believed to be worth about $80,000 was discovered by a retired man in Western Australia who said he\u2019s been searching the area for years with a metal detector.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The man who discovered the nugget did not want to be named but said he found the nugget in the northern Goldfields, the Australian Associated Press reported.<\/p>\n

“When I had finished digging it out, I just thought ‘Oh my God’,” he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u00a0\u201cThere\u2019s an amazing feeling of joy when you find a gold nugget, even a small one, so when I uncovered this one it<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
was a really special moment,” the man said according to\u00a0Aussie Gold Addiction.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The man said it took him two hours to get the nugget, which weighed about seven pounds, out of the ground.<\/p>\n

“It was pretty deep at about 31 inches in clay soil so it took more than two hours of careful digging to get it out,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The man said he named the nugget \u201cDuck\u2019s Foot\u201d due to its shape.<\/p>\n

Rob Anderson, who owns metal detector company Prospectors Pick, said he has known the gold digger for while and the man has had luck before.<\/p>\n

<\/b>“He’s been very successful over the years,” Anderson said.<\/p>\n

The gold nugget was believed to be worth about $80,000.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

RNC Minerals, a Canadian gold mining company, announced earlier this month that 578 pounds of gold was found in its Beta Hunt gold mine in Goldfields near where \u201cDuck\u2019s Foot\u201d was discovered. The gold was worth about $11.6 million.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
